城市的发展从城市化到绅士化，人们的视图逐渐变成统一的钢筋水泥的灰色和悲观。人们在越盖越高的大厦中变得越来越渺小，像行尸走肉般的穿梭在一层一层复制粘贴似的楼宇之间，越来越没有方向。这种无意义的生活引导着人们开始探讨如何使建筑得到和谐的人文发展，如何看待城市空间的社会意义。城市空间的发展是一种公共空间的成长，而涂鸦作为一种发泄方式，是人的社会行动在城市空间中留下的痕迹。它以一种娱乐的方式存在于大街小巷、高楼矮房的外砖墙上，它用强烈的色彩、夸张的图形以及特殊的造型表达着人们内心的呐喊和宣泄，它存在于城市之中，表达着城市，也代表着城市。它与观众直接的对话，也是城市与人类的对话。
这是一个不太像涂鸦展的涂鸦展，两位涂鸦艺术家- 哈里和Ray - 反复思考涂鸦与城市的关系，用不同于传统涂鸦的媒介、材料、主题和创作方式等，以后现代的方式诉说涂鸦与城市的故事。从Ray的《聚落》中，我们可以看到城市不同于钢筋水泥的面貌，看到城市大厦穿上丙烯颜料的外衣的样子，看到一个不是灰色悲观的景观风貌；而哈里的作品，将城市建造的原料反复叠加、变化、利用，将树脂和混凝土变得不再单调枯燥，不再没有方向。
《涂光城色》充满弹性与想象力的表达使我们追随着艺术家对于城市的理解，这种理解是有方向和内容的，在此，涂鸦得以担当起对话窗口和网络媒介的重任。
From urbanization to gentrification, people’s vision is becoming unified grey and pessimism of the armored concrete gradually. People are smaller and smaller in front of the buildings which have been constructed higher and higher, like the dead-alive wandering through the copy-paste buildings, without direction. Such a meaningless life leads people to explore how to develop the harmonious humanity of buildings, and how to treat thesocial significance of city space. The development of city space is a kind of public space’s growth, and the graffiti – as a way to abreaction – is the trace left in the city space after people’s social actions. It exists on the walls across the streets and buildings as an entertaining way, using intense colors, exaggerated figures and special sculpts to express people’s inner voice and release. It exists in the city, expresses the city, and represents the city. The direct conversation between the graffiti and the audience is also the conversation between the city and human.
This is a graffiti exhibition which is not too much like a graffiti exhibition, two graffiti artists – Hali and Ray – are keeping thinking the relations between the graffiti and city repeatedly, using the medium, materials, themes, ways of creation and so on which are different from the traditional graffiti, in a postmodern view to tell the story of the graffitiand city. In Ray’s “Settlement”, we can see features of the city differed from the armored concrete, see the looks when city buildings are wearing acrylic paints, and see the landscape which isnot grey and pessimistic. Hali’s artworks repeatedly superimposes, changes and utilizes raw materials for urban construction, and makes resin and cement no longer monotonous, boring or disorientated.
City Color is full of elastic and imaginative expression leading us to follow the artists’ understanding of City, this understanding is orientated and substantial. Here, the graffiti will take on heavy responsibilities as the dialog window and internet medium.
关于艺术家
跨界街头艺术家哈里Hali, 作品曾被上海美术馆所收藏，参与过多次中国涂鸦文化纪录片拍摄，并接受众多海外媒体采访报道，与Jaguar, Chevrolet, UnderAmour, Nike Jordan等国际品牌合作产品设计和艺术项目。他不喜欢循规蹈矩，选择坚持创作的道路，追求且不断尝试在不同的媒介上创造属于自己的艺术。

Ray是武汉最早一批涂鸦者之一，接受过《南方人物周刊》采访，曾任教于湖北美术学院壁画系全国唯一系统性涂鸦课程，参与WWF(世界自然基金会)和“立邦-为爱上色”等大型公益艺术项目，代表武汉青年文化与法国总理夫人布里吉特·埃罗交流与分享武汉和中国的涂鸦文化。他并不局限与涂鸦的载体和媒介，而是在其他艺术创作方式上留下涂鸦的痕迹。

「活动回顾」
4月11日，《涂光城色》于名企公馆·新桥艺术园区，新桥美术馆顺利开幕。艺术家哈里和Ray带来十余件作品亮相美术馆一楼和二楼展厅，开幕现场还有众多园区入驻艺术家到场参观交流。

此次展览以涂鸦为媒介，构建城市与人类的艺术对话。两位艺术家致力于涂鸦艺术到架上艺术的转换，但又不脱离城市与涂鸦的关系。他们反复思考涂鸦与城市的关系，用不同于传统涂鸦的媒介、材料、主题和创作方式等，以后现代的方式诉说涂鸦与城市的故事。

艺术家哈里为此次展览量身定制的雕塑涂鸦也在开幕当天揭开面纱，此次创作不同于传统涂鸦的墙体彩绘，将二维涂鸦创作与园区艺术家的三维立体雕塑作品结合，展览期间，此作品在美术馆正门口展出。
Capitall Shanghai的Julia介绍了中外涂鸦艺术文化发展，并展望涂鸦艺术家的未来。她结合自己出国交流的经历，向不
同的艺术家发出倡议，尝试共同研究实验街头艺术的可能性。

开幕现场还邀请到来自废时车间的肢体表演艺术家安斌和美国打击乐音乐家Seesar，带来环境声音即兴表演《迷之魔镜》。本场表演是对此次展览的一次特殊定制，由展览主题而生发，根据空间结构而编排，是肢体、声音和涂鸦艺术的一次跨界实验。表演震撼全场。
