前言
实际上没有“艺术”这种东西，只有艺术家和艺术作品而已 – 这是西方艺术史研究大师贡布里希极富智慧的至理名言。
上海是中国现代化的中心城市和文化时尚的风向标之一。在艺术领域，上海近年掀起的“美术馆热潮”，主要偏重于对艺术作品的展示和对当代艺术史的梳理；“艺术博览会热潮”则偏重于艺术作品的收藏和艺术市场的推动。然而，作为艺术生态中最为重要的“艺术家群体”，上海的艺术家又在哪里？
如何在极具艺术传统的江南地区将当代艺术家凝聚起来，形成一种充分互动与交流的艺术生态，正是我们“名企公馆·新桥艺术园区”建立的基本宗旨。
经过近六年坚持，现在当艺术圈再次提到上海艺术家的聚集地，“名企公馆·新桥艺术园区”无疑是其中最为重要的力量之一。目前园区已经有近百位艺术家的工作室，虽然才初具规模，却已然是上海艺术家最为集中的地方。
“吹万不同”，语出《庄子·齐物论》:"夫吹万不同，而使其自己也。" 本义指风吹万窍，发出各种声响，即所谓天籁之音，比喻万物各得其天然之性。园区的艺术家都是相当优秀和富于不同潜质的艺术家，此次展览即借用此典，以充分体现创作主体的多样性和多元性。展品形式涵盖绘画、装置、影像和现场等，是园区艺术家作品的又一次整体呈现。
我们相信，通过这次展览可以深入了解每一位艺术家的艺术世界，亦可以感受到作为一个艺术家群落所具有的无限创造力、新鲜活力与峥嵘气象。
- Artists’ group exhibition at Xinqiao Art MuseumSir Ernst Hans Josef Gombrich, a famous British art historian once wisely claimed, “There really is no such thing as Art. There are only artists.”Shanghai is one of the modern cities and cultural and fashionable bellwethers in China. As for the realm of art, Shanghai witnessed the upsurge of art museums, where emphases are on exhibitions of artworks and carding of contemporary art history. The ‘Art Fair upsurge’ focuses on the collection of artworks and promotion of art markets. However, where are the Shanghai artists who are the central to the art community in China?How to cohere contemporary artists in Jiangnan region where there a great artistic tradition, to form a ecosystem in which artists would fully interact and intercommunicate, is the basic purpose of Xinqiao Art Complex.After 6-year insistence, Xinqiao Art Complex has undoubtedly been one of the most important strength when the contemporary art community refers to the gathering place of Shanghai artists. So far, there are almost 100 artist’s studios in the Complex, although it only begins to take shape, it has become one of the most concentrated places for artists in Shanghai.‘Group Dynamics’ was inspired by the influential 4th century Chinese philosopher, Zhuang Zi, whose writings, Qi Wu Lun (Uniformity Theory), states that the “夫吹万不同，而使其自己也(fu chui wan bu tong, er shi qi zi ji ye)”, which means different objects create various sounds while being blown by the wind, namely the sounds of nature, and metaphor for all has its own nature. All the artists in the creative Complex are outstanding and full of potential, by virtue of this philosophy, ‘Group Dynamics’ would represent the diversity and pluralism of the creation subjects. The forms of artworks contain painting, installation, videos and performance, etc., which is another integral representation of the artists’ works in the Complex. It is believed that, through this exhibition, we could explore a path to understand the artistic world of every artist, as well, experience the endless creativity, vitality and extraordinariness as an artist community.
